About the Event:
The play reflects the largest labor movement in the history of the Republic, the events of June 15-16, 1970, as seen through the lens of the kitchen staff of a wealthy family.
Even the mansion workers, who can think of nothing but serving, cannot remain indifferent to the events unfolding before their eyes. Each will take their own share from the societal changes happening around them.
Written by Vasıf Öngören, this play presents these events in a humorous way. It has been performed numerous times on stage and adapted into a film. In 1978, Şener Şen played the role of Lütfü Usta (Chef Lütfü) in the play’s first performance at the Istanbul City Theaters. After 40 years, Şener Şen returns to the stage in the same role, accompanied by a young cast.
